A few years ago, The Rookies set out to create Certified Digital Artist - an open source archive and that will standardise skills for digital artists on a global stage. The goal was to help set a benchmark of creative and technical skills required by all artists, before applying for entry-level industry jobs.
For talent, the greater clarity on what competencies are relevant today, in whatever role they are in, will allow them to gain a competitive edge in the job market by proving their mastery of core creative media skills from an industry perspective.
For studio’s recruitment teams, the resource is designed to help teams find talent more easily by being able to set clear skills based competencies before applying to job placements, saving them countless hours reviewing unvetted applicants.
For educational facilities, this resource is designed to help more educators build curriculums that adequately prepare talent for current and future industry requirements.
Most importantly, the open source archive and elective Certification is designed to help consolidate opinions from all key stakeholders in creative media & entertainment industries, and present a united front on core competencies and skills for entry-level roles.
