Success Stories: Schools That Have Integrated Perfectly Into Our Community

The Rookies platform bridges the gap between education and industry, and we take this synergy to heart! With our vibrant community, creative challenges, and engagement opportunities, The Rookies has proven to be an invaluable space for both students and schools to flourish.

The Power of Community Engagement: Schools Making Their Mark

Schools who have integrated perfectly into our community are visionary educational institutions who have embraced The Rookies as more than just a platform – it's a digital home for their creative communities. These schools have seamlessly integrated with the platform, engaging not only their students but also their educators in meaningful ways.

I sincerely think that people shouldn't view The Rookies as just a contest platform, but as a free tool to assess their skill level. This is why every student or self-learning individual should enter their newest work. There is literally nothing to lose, just benefits.

Participation goes beyond merely uploading work; these schools embrace the collaborative spirit of The Rookies. They actively encourage students to enter contests, share articles, and interact with fellow creatives. This active involvement instills a sense of belonging and empowers students to showcase their talents on a global stage.

The Rookies have given me opportunities to share about my work which I appreciate. On a personal level, it’s affirming to have my work recognised. I’m a 'newb' so it’s encouraging to know I am doing something that speaks to others.

Empowering Students, Cultivating Connections

One of the most inspiring aspects of these engaged schools is the transformation of students into confident professionals. Through their dedication to The Rookies, students not only gain exposure but also forge connections that propel them towards successful careers.

Since publishing my entry in the Rookie Awards, and publishing an article about one of my latest projects in my Rookies Portfolio, I have come into contact with many new people in the industry and have also received job offers directly related to my entry.

By leveraging the platform's networking potential, students have made invaluable industry connections. Engaging with professionals, mentors, and fellow students from around the world, they're granted insights into real-world practices, feedback on their work, and even job opportunities. The digital realm becomes a launching pad into a tangible industry network.

From the Platform to the Industry: Success Stories

Among the success stories is the journey of students who went from active participation on The Rookies to landing jobs in their desired industries. By showcasing their skills, building a portfolio, and interacting with industry professionals, they've transformed their passions into paychecks.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to say thank you again for the chance to author an article on my project. Literally the day it was posted on LinkedIn, I received a message from a game studio interested in my work and I have an interview next week. The spotlight you provided has definitely given me a boost, thank you so much for the opportunity!

Jocque Butler, Think Tank Training Centre Graduate

These success stories illustrate that dedication to the platform can lead to tangible rewards, and the connection between The Rookies and the industry isn't just a theoretical concept – it's a reality.

Entering the Rookies for the three years I was at uni, always yielded great feedback, which allowed me to work on my skills and improve in critical areas. This focus allowed me to, first, freelance, and later, work full time in office for a great company! The freelance work was fantastic experience, and I don’t think I would have gotten any of it, if it wasn’t for the Rookies. In particular, the interview experience I picked up was crucial.
With my sparkly new portfolio, armed with Rookies and freelance experience, I was able to land a job working at Free Radical Design! I am coming up to my 6th month currently! In the perhaps far future, I would like to found my own games studio. All this wouldn’t be possible without the knowledge I picked up along the way. Never be afraid to fail, after all, you miss all the shots you don’t take.
